Love one another – Prayer for November 9. Praise the Lord, everybody! Words have power! Power to uplift and power to tear down. In the body of Christ, it is not unusual to find gossip and backbiting going on. Souls are broken down with sin and abused by Satan, only to be shunned and verbally slapped by older “established” Christians. They make new converts feel like they’re trying to join a college Fraternity.
Bible Verse for Today
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. (Ephesians 4:29-32)
We must stop using our mouths to destroy our brothers and sisters in Christ and stop chasing away new converts and sinners searching for deliverance and healing.
We need to take time to hear from God before we speak into another person’s life whenever possible, no emotional rushing to judgment, no quick saying of “doth sayeth the Lord” before we hear the Lord say it.
Let us be careful not to let any corrupt communication come out of our mouths except that which God has ordained for the chastisement and edification of His people. Let us encourage and not discourage with our conversation, both verbal and nonverbal. Jesus tells us in God’s word, “this is how they will know you are my disciple, that you have loved one to another.” Let the love of Christ always be on your tongue. God bless you all.
Love One Another Prayer for Today
Father God, help us to speak no evil towards our brothers and sisters in Christ. Help us show more love and concern toward the lost and the confused. God, teach us to love one another as you love us. Lord, put a Holy Spirit filter on our mouths and rein on our tongues. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
