In a world that often measures success by material gain and social status, it’s vital to remember what constitutes success from a spiritual perspective. Today, in our Daily Devotional for May 10, “Defining True Success,” let’s explore the meaning of true success and how it relates to our relationship with God.
Daily Devotional for May 10
“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Matthew 6:20)
Defining True Success
The world’s definition of success can be misleading, such as job promotions, luxury items, and social prestige. These achievements are temporary and often leave us feeling empty.
True success is found in knowing God and experiencing the power of His resurrection. It’s understanding that you are loved unconditionally and made acceptable through Jesus Christ.
The Eternal Perspective
True success involves allowing God to help you be your best without the need to prove your worth by being better than others. This form of success isn’t about competition; it’s about fulfillment and purpose in God’s plan for you.
Remember, the accolades and accomplishments of this world will not follow you beyond death. Only what is done for God will last.
Living for the Kingdom
Always remember that the ultimate goal of life isn’t to accumulate wealth or status but to attain the Kingdom of God. Worldly success will mean little if your life ends without this spiritual achievement.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
True success is about aligning your life with God’s will and living your days according to His commands and promises.
