“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
God’s First Step Towards Us
Christmas symbolizes the incredible step God took toward humanity, revealing His desire for a deep, personal relationship with each of us.
God’s Initiative
The Gospel of John says, “The Word became flesh.” We often succumb to human weakness and get caught up in the Christmas story, considering HOW the Word became flesh. But much more important is WHY the Word became flesh. After all, God never does anything to show His power in a person’s life.
With the birth of Jesus, God takes an essential step toward man’s salvation. With Jesus, the direct path to the culmination of salvation begins.
The birth of Jesus is an excellent gesture of God. In Jesus, God comes to us as one of us, not only to make the divine being accessible and intelligible but, more importantly, to come to save us. The invitation to celebrate Christmas is, therefore, an invitation to salvation.
The Invitation of a Lifetime
To achieve salvation, God provides all the necessary means. The most important of these is the ability to receive God’s grace. Whoever receives Jesus into their life has direct access to God. This initiative of His is an open invitation for us to join Him on the journey of life. It is an invitation to experience His love, grace, and truth firsthand.
Our Response to His Call
The beauty of Christmas lies in our response to this divine initiative. When we open the door of our lives to God, we step into the most transformative relationship possible. It’s a step of faith, trust, and surrender, acknowledging our need for Him and our desire to know Him more.

Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, on this Christmas Day, I am filled with gratitude and awe as I reflect on the incredible step You took in sending Your Son to earth. Thank You for Your initiative in reaching out to us and Your desire to be in a relationship with us.
Help me to embrace the invitation You extend fully. I open the door of my heart to You, Lord, inviting You into every area of my life. May this Christmas be a time of deepening my relationship with You.
Guide me in this journey of faith as I respond to Your call. Let the truth of Your Word and the love of Christ guide and shape my life today and every day.
Thank You for the gift of Jesus, whose birth we celebrate today. In His precious name, I pray. Amen.
