It’s a beautiful Advent day, isn’t it? All the more so because our daily devotional inspires us to embrace God’s plan. In Matthew 1:18-24 we read about Joseph’s profound journey of faith and obedience. His story, especially in the face of unexpected and difficult circumstances, is a compelling example of trust and acceptance of God’s plan.

Understanding God’s plans is difficult because we are used to measuring everything from a human perspective. But we have to be willing to accept that God sees the big picture and that in the long run, everything works out for the good, not only for us personally but also for the life stories of countless people. Most often, the fullness of life fails when we are stubborn and unable to see the bigger picture.
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, as I reflect on Joseph’s story, I am struck by his incredible faith and obedience. He trusted in Your plan in an impossible situation and courageously followed Your guidance. Please help me to exhibit the same faith and obedience in my life. When Your plans for me are unclear or challenging, grant me the courage to trust in You and follow Your lead. Please remind me of Joseph’s example in moments of doubt or confusion. Let his faith inspire me to embrace Your plans with an open heart and a willing spirit. Thank You, Lord, for the reminder that Your ways are higher than ours and that Your plans are always for our good. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
