It is said that we should not talk about faith but live it. Did you know that one of the fundamental truths of the Christian faith is that God loves you? In theory we know, in practice we do not feel. Let’s talk about it in today’s Daily Devotional.
Daily Devotional for January 23
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)
God Loves You
God’s love for you is not a rosy sigh on Valentine’s Day but a theological truth. God is love (1 John 4:8). Our faith is built on that.
Knowing that God loves you can change the way you look at every moment of this day. You get a firm foundation under your feet. You gain a good reason to embrace this day with gratitude and joy, whatever the circumstances.
Love Beyond Deserving
God’s love isn’t based on our merit or actions. He loves us purely because it is His nature to love. This unconditional love is a gift we receive freely, without needing to earn it.
Confidence in His Love
Knowing that God loves us gives us immense confidence. It allows us to live life boldly, free from the fear of rejection or failure. His perfect love casts out all fear, filling us with peace and security.
Chosen and Valued by God
The feeling of being left out or not chosen can be excruciating. However, the incredible truth is that God has chosen you. You are unique to Him, and His love for you is everlasting. This knowledge should uplift and encourage us in our darkest moments.

Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me not because I deserve it but because You choose to. Help me to understand and accept Your love deeply. Let this knowledge give me the confidence to face each day without fear, knowing that You value and cherish me. In moments of doubt or rejection, remind me that You chose and loved me. Your love is the most significant affirmation I could ever receive. May Your perfect love cast out any fear in my heart and help me to live in the freedom and joy of being Your beloved child. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
To You
Reflect on God’s unconditional love for you. How can this understanding transform your perspective and actions today? Remember, no matter what, God loves you.
As you go through this day, carry the comforting and empowering truth that God loves you. Let this truth guide your actions, thoughts, and interactions with others. You are chosen, loved, and valued by the Creator of the universe. Amen.
