Move forward with Jesus – Prayer for August 14. Christians can learn from the past, but we are not bound to the things we have done. Instead of being chained by our past mistakes, we can move forward, knowing we carry Christ’s forgiveness. Our life is the gradual, lifelong path of becoming more and more like Jesus. Such is the aim that we should set before us.
Bible Verse for Today
“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.” (Philippians 3:13)
We can neither expect to become perfect before our death. But if we always look back on our mistakes, we will never move forward on our way to the Kingdom of God.
Apostle Paul says we live by an important principle: focusing on the goal before us. We cannot always look back and at the same time still focus on the goal ahead. We should not look back on our past steps and mistakes but concentrate on improving each step of our future journey. Only by following Jesus we can reach the goal of being with Christ.

We need to have a clear direction and do some simple things daily to become more like Jesus and closer to the Kingdom of God. Our place in eternity is secure from the moment we trust in Christ, but it takes time to see our actions and attitudes change to be like Him. Christian’s focus ought to be purely on Christ and nothing else.
Follow Jesus – love, pray, do good works, and your life will change soon.
Move Forward with Jesus Prayer for Today
God, I know that I am weak and so often fail. Lord, I want to become more and more like Jesus. My God, I promise to keep trying and never give up. I want to reach the Kingdom of God and will do my best. My Lord, I know I can’t do anything without your help. So please, Lord, help me on my way and delight me with the great things you can do in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
