Saved by faith in Christ – Prayer for December 20. God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus to us. He came to save those who believed and followed him. There is the only option to get eternal life- through Jesus. If we don’t follow Him, we choose death.
Bible Verse for Today
“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (John 3:18)
We are all sinful, and we deserve to be separated from God. But God wants to heal his children from injury through rejection. He wants you to know that He will never reject you. It refers to those who strive to be perfect and torture themselves with guilt if they fail. God’s love and patience cause Him to delay judgment.
In John 3:18, Jesus talked to people trying to live under the law of the Pharisees. It took a lot to make it suitable for the Pharisees, which still exists today. You will surely recognize one – someone who gives you to understand, “I will accept you if you behave properly and do it to me. If not, I will reject you and deprive you of my love.”
Jesus behaves in another way. Instead, he says the one who believes in him will never be rejected. So put your trust in him, love him, rely on him, and believe him. Then you will receive the joy of the abundant life that He offers you.
Saved by Faith in Christ Prayer for Today
Lord, thank you for loving and accepting us such as we are. Help us to acknowledge that we are saved by faith in Christ and through faith in Christ. God, strengthen our faith, the only way to your promised eternal life. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
