Advent. THE SHIELD OF FAITH Prayer for December 19

the shield of faith

Advent—Prayer for December 19. The shield of faith also shields us from arrows fired into our lives by enemies. We’ll use the shield of faith to stand firm in battle. Let us tell God to equip us with the shield of faith.

Bible Verse for Today

“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:16)

The purpose of the shield is to quench all the fiery darts of the Wicked. You may wonder why I need to catch the fiery darts of the wicked. The reason is that those fiery darts are seeds of unbelief.

The devil sends fiery messages to put fear in our hearts. He knows that fear is the opposite of faith; no man can please God without faith (Ephesians 6:11-13).

So, to get us to displease God, he brings things that scare us so much that we forget God’s promises for us in his word and begin to live outside his will.

Jesus is not happy when he sees that you allow fear in you.

This is why we must hold the shield and stand firm by the power in the name of Jesus against every arrow that the enemy has fired into our lives. There are so many things we face in life, and the enemy uses these things to make us fearful.

Devotional for every day: Daily Devotional

The challenges we face in life, and the bad situations we encounter are like arrows being fired. You can’t defend against these arrows except if you are holding the shield of faith, and you can’t get this shield of faith except if you are in Christ Jesus.

The Shield of FaithPrayer for Today

Heavenly Lord, thank you for all you’ve done in my life. Thank you for this morning—it’s a wonderful day, and I know that you will always be there for me. Thank you because you’ve given me the shield of faith. I pray, Lord, that you teach me how to use it effectively and help me fight and defend myself against the arrows of the Wicked. I know you have done it for me, Lord. Amen.
