Advent. Stand firm in the faith – Prayer for December 16. At a time like this when we are anticipating the second coming of Christ, the enemy, Satan, will do all he can to stop Christians from going the right path.
Advent is the time when we speak about the second coming of Christ, so let us put on the amour of God today and fight.
Bible Verse for Today
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)
The devil himself has never for once rested or stopped going after the believers to pull them down or to tempt them to fall from the right path. Satan knew he has but a little time to execute his plans before going into the bottomless pit, so he has to do it without rest.
We should not become prey to him – we must be on guard at all times.
If Satan behaves like a lion looking for whom to devour then we must run to Him who can slay the lion, that is the lion of the tribe of Judah – getting into the place of power of God will get us ready to fight and conquer.
If anyone, any Christian steps out of God, he or she becomes prey to Satan. The shield is down and it would be easy for the devil to get such. We must be vigilant at all times – we must be clothed with power, we must put on the whole amour of God and fight.
When the Bible says “the whole amour” it was saying everything that shields one away from the attack of the enemy not leaving any part of our body open for easy penetration. Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

Stand Firm in the Faith – Prayer for Today
Lord, I pray for the divine power to face the real enemy, who wants to stop me today. I refuse to fall into temptation. Help me Lord to stand firm. I put on the whole amour right now and I declare victory over Satan, I declare victory over temptations, I declare victory over frustrations and disappointments. Help me Lord and let your name be exalted in my life. Amen.
