Today, in our Daily Devotional for July 18, let’s explore how sowing in tears can lead to a harvest of joy.
Daily Devotional for July 18
“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.” – Psalm 126:5 (NIV)
Sowing in Tears
Life often presents us with challenges that bring us to tears. In those moments, we may wonder why God doesn’t immediately solve our problems.
Psalm 126 reminds us that those who sow with tears will eventually reap with joy. This means that even while we are still hurting, we must continue doing the right things—helping others, praying, and studying God’s Word. As we do, we are sowing seeds for a future harvest.
Continuing in Faith
It can be difficult to understand why God allows us to struggle with our own problems while giving us the strength to help others.
I learned that He wants us to reach out to others in our time of need. When we do, we are sowing seeds for our future harvest.
The Principle of Sowing and Reaping
Those who sow in tears will reap a harvest with songs of joy. There is nothing more joyful than experiencing a reversal of bad circumstances and seeing them turn into something good. It is exciting and brings immense happiness.
God’s Promise of Joy
The Bible tells us that “weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5). Admittedly, it often takes more than one night for our problems to be solved, but this Psalm teaches us a principle: God always comes through and gives us victory.
Your problems will end, and your sorrow will turn to joy.
Holding onto Hope
When you are in the midst of trials, remember that God sees your tears and hears your prayers. Keep sowing in faith, knowing that a joyful harvest is promised. Your perseverance and faithfulness will lead to a season of rejoicing.
