Keep focused on Jesus for courage – Prayer for May 25. Jesus is the source of our courage. We don’t know what the day will bring, so we need Jesus to face it.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
The word of God promised us the best, even in times of trouble.
As humans, there are some situations we find ourselves in that we can’t even face. God told us not to panic; instead, we should be courageous. We need to keep focused on Jesus for courage.

After Joshua became the leader of Israel, he was sure afraid to face and stand in the position. God told him not to be afraid; he focused on God for encouragement. Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go.”
Your strength may fail you, and you feel you can’t go further. But seek encouragement from God. For example, Joshua was not sure if he could lead the Israelites, but God kept on telling him to lead them, he was encouraging Joshua, and he didn’t fail.

Lord, I thank you for another beautiful day like this. I thank you because your love is unending. Thank you for seeing me through the night. Even though there might be terror that moves at night, you still protected me.
I know I have made some mistakes. However, if I say I am not a sinner, then I am a liar and have no truth. So Lord, please forgive my mistakes, help me forgive others, and teach me how to love.
God, as I enter my workplace or school, give me the courage to face whatever may come my way. Let your presence go with me. I know my strength cannot take me farther, but I’m relying on you for today. Please grace my efforts and encourage me to do my best. I promise to keep focused on Jesus for courage. Amen.
