God is the source of love – Prayer for August 11. God loves us. He is the source of love. Sometimes many of us doubt the love of God. Sometimes we think we need to earn God’s love by behaving well.
God demonstrated His love when Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. God has sacrificed his only son to show how much he loves each of us. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (1 John 4:7-8)
God has shown how much he loves us. He sacrificed His only Son so that we who follow Jesus could spend eternity with God.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God wants us to know that His love is unconditional, so He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us while we were sinners. We didn’t have to make any promises to God before we could experience His love. His love for us has always existed.
God did all the giving and sacrificing long before we felt His love.
God is the Source of Love Prayer for Today
God, you are full of love and grace. Your righteousness and mercy meet at the cross. Help me today to understand more of the mystery of your reconciling love. Lord, I know that you don’t love us unconditionally. You love us because you are Love. God, you created us to have a relationship with us, and you have made the most significant sacrifice – gave your beloved Son to restore that relationship. Thank you, God, that I can feel your love every day. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
