Power of God’s presence—Prayer for October 17. We live in a world where bad things happen. We often feel that so much is out of our control. In such days and situations, we look for safe places, conditions, relationships, etc.
Why do we so long for safety? What, personally for us, does it mean to be in a safe place?

The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10)
The Bible tells us about the Lord, a fortified tower where the righteous can find safety. It is so good to know that, like children, we can run into our Father’s arms and find peace, healing, security, and much more.
The Bible says that God’s name provides proper protection for His people. Only under the wings of the Lord can we find protection, safety, and peace.
God is love, so He destroys all our fears and dangers
Wherever we seek safety, God’s presence with us in that place provides the strength and protection we need. God is love, so He destroys all our fears and dangers. Therefore, God is the only power that ensures our safety in any situation.
“The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the righteous run to it and find safety.” (Proverbs 18:10)
Even those who don’t have a relationship with God often find themselves calling out to Him in moments of desperation. This is because the name of Jesus holds immense power and can overcome any situation, no matter how severe.
It causes demons to flee, silences the world’s attacks, dispels fear, and instantly breaks through the darkness.
When fear grips your heart, speak the name of Jesus and watch how the atmosphere shifts.
If you’ve accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, you have been given the right and authority to use His name—and He encourages you to do so! (Mark 16:15, 17-18)
If you are discouraged, just run to God. He will fight the battles you are too weak to fight. Never hesitate in the power of God’s presence.
Power of God’s Presence Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, we can find safety in your presence. You are always with us and never let us feel lonely and lost. Lord, help us to fight the battles we are too weak to fight. God, be with us constantly so we can feel the power of God’s presence every minute of our lives. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
