Walk your own path – Prayer for January 2. We are in a world where everything seems right even when it’s obvious that it’s not good. The popular thing they say is “others are doing it.” Let’s ask for the grace to stand out and walk your own path.
Bible Verse for Today
“Do not enter the path of the wicked and do not proceed in the way of evil men.” (Proverbs 4:14)
We must not for the sake of doing things that will please others to do things that will not please God. They can’t bless you in a way that God will bless you. So do things that will please God and stand out. The Bible says “blessed is the man who does not work in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!”
The way of this world is not the way we must follow if we want the plans of God to be perfected on us. Even though we are in this world, we are not of this world. Walk your own path. In today’s attention-seeking world, everyone wants to be liked and wanted. We all want to be like that also, we want to be known. The fact that we needed these things doesn’t mean we should take the path of unrighteousness.
Let’s keep our righteousness because even the world is in need of us. As Romans 8:19 says: “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” So, stand out in everything you do today, and doing that, God will lift you and make you known to the world.
Walk Your Own Path Prayer for Today
Dear Father, I thank you for your presence in me. I thank you for the path that you are helping me to take. It is by your grace that I was saved from the destruction of this world. Lord, I have decided to follow you’re laid down plans for the rest of my life.
I want to stand out today Lord. I don’t want to stand with the evil of this world even if it’s going to give me wealth and prosperity. It is yours alone that I want. That’s why I am standing out so you can bless me and also be a blessing to my generation. Amen.
