Building a Good Relationship with God – Prayer for April 29. How we present ourselves to people matters significantly because that’s how they see us. Therefore, we must look deeply into ourselves to eliminate anything unpleasant to God. Building a good relationship with God is necessary to understand what pleases God.

“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you – unless, of course, you fail the test?” (2 Corinthians 13:5)
Self-examination is a crucial part of our relationship with God because we put ourselves in check every time we do that. Some things happen in our lives or some situations that cause us to look at our lives. This situation might be frustration, failure, or sometimes what happens around us.
The scripture told us to examine ourselves to check whether we are still in faith. But, instead, most of the time, we do things that we think are right because we don’t feel that there will be any consequences after that.

As a Christian, there are different areas of your life that you should examine closely to know if you are correct. The first is examining our relationship with God; we must know our stand in God’s place. Are you doing what God ordered you to do, following his plans and ways, or making decisions yourself without consulting God?
These are the things we should ask ourselves to know if we are still in a good relationship with God. We must also examine our relationship with the people around us. Are we relating to them well? What can they say of us, or are we showing love?
These are the questions we must ask and answer ourselves. By doing these, we know if Christ is in us or not.
Building a Good Relationship with God Prayer for Today
Lord, help me examine myself so I do not lose sight of Your plans for my life. Please help me to commune with your Holy Spirit. My spirit is enlightened only when I discern your mysteries and secrets. Enable me to be devoted to you and to build a good relationship with you through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
