“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
Cherished by God
Imagine if you saw someone tossing around your most prized possession carelessly, leaving it out in bad weather, or otherwise risking damage to it. Wouldn’t you be grieved?
God feels the same way about His possessions—people. We belong to God; we are His creations, and His Spirit is grieved when He sees us being mistreated.
God’s Valued Possessions
Every individual is cherished by God. He has assignments for each of us, and while not everyone shares the same calling in life, every born-again person is an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ.
Each person has the right to peace, righteousness, and joy. We all have the right to have our needs met, to be used by God, and to see His anointing flow through us.
The Call to Love
Our willingness to love others greatly influences how much fruit we see in our lives and ministries.
Don’t expect to reap where you didn’t sow
One of the main reasons why there is so little love between people is that it takes effort. But there is a cost to loving and being loved. You cannot reap where you have sown nothing. You cannot take without giving.
The Cost of Love
Love requires us to withhold some things we would like to say, not do some things we would like to do, and give away some things we would like to keep. It also requires us to be patient with people. Relationships are not always easy, but they are always important to God because He values people.
Reflecting God’s Love
We need to make the effort and the sacrifices needed to love people as God wants us to love them, so we do not grieve Him. By treating others with the same care and respect that we give to our most cherished possessions, we honor God and reflect His love to the world.

Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for cherishing us and valuing us as Your prized possessions. Help us to love others as You love us, with patience, kindness, and respect. Teach us to make the effort and sacrifices needed to reflect Your love and not grieve Your Spirit. May our lives be a testament to Your grace and love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
