Don’t be ignorant – Devotional prayer for January 23. Ignorance is not a good thing; it kills. Ignorance may sometimes mean a lack of information. But, as Christians, there are things we must have knowledge of.
Bible Verses for Today
“Ignorant people get what their foolishness deserves, but the clever are rewarded with knowledge.” (Proverbs 14:18)
Most of the time, we become unbothered about what’s happening around us. However, not knowing the things going on around us can be deadly sometimes, which is why we must not be ignorant. The Bible advised against this, and the book of 1 Corinthians 2:11 talks of knowing the ways of Satan so that he won’t get unaware.
Knowledge is Your Strength
Satan likes to play on our intelligence; he did the same to Jesus in the wilderness when he tempted him. Jesus knows the Scripture, so he could resist the devil using it. The Bible is an important book we must feed ourselves to survive the spiritual wars the enemy is waging against us.

When you do not read the Bible, God’s promises will be impossible to claim. However, there are secrets of success documented in the Bible. God told Joshua to read the book to get the success he desired.
Every time we pray for opportunities to show so that we can use them to become great, we will never get these opportunities when we are not informed.
Social media can be misleading sometimes and can lure us into sinful acts, but we must not forget the benefits attached to them. There are some offers, job openings, training, and some exciting adverts that can help, which have been posted. We must make use of these to get informed.
Becoming great in life starts with a piece of information. People inventing the things we use in this world did not just decide to create them, they have an understanding of how things work, and they utilize it.
Don’t be Ignorant Prayer for Today
Lord, I thank you because you have created me in your image, and your image is wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. I don’t want to be ignorant of the things that can give me success; I don’t want to be ignorant or blind to opportunities that can provide greatness. So, Lord, give me the power and help me be updated in power and knowledge. Amen.
