Growing together in Christ – Prayer for January 22. We Christians need to start caring for each other because we are bonded by the blood of Jesus which make us family. Let’s learn to pray for others.
Bible Verse for Today
“as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” (2 Corinthians 1:11)
It is the will of God to bless everyone and to make everyone care for each other. When Jesus said “Love your neighbor as yourself”, it is not only by giving but also by praying for each other and encouraging each other.
Intercession is the process where a person positions him/herself in between two people; one with a need or a problem and the other person with the answer or solution. As a teenager or an adult, you are not too young or too old to pray for people. There are many people that have taken the work of God on themselves, the missionaries have gone to the entire world to make sure the gospel gets to everyone not minding the consequences that may come from it.
If you can send gifts, your prayer can get to them too.
When anyone needs your help, it would be better to pray with such a person, it’s a sign that you care. Jesus never stopped praying for his disciples and the people, he took it upon himself to intercede for people.
If we are born of Christ and called to be in his circle, then we must find ourselves doing what he does, which intercession is part of. The secret of praying for others is that God will never leave your own case unsettled, he answers your needs. Don’t feel you are worthless when you find it impossible to settle the needs of people.
Growing Together in Christ Prayer for Today
Dear Lord, I worship you for your mercy that I have received to be alive today. I thank you because you never stopped praying for us from heaven, Lord Jesus. I pray that you teach me to be selfless and to pray for other people every time. Let my prayers be answered, Lord. Amen.
