Finishing well in life – Devotional prayer for March 28. Everything in this world as we all know has a beginning and an ending. Whatever task that might be given to us to do, there will be a time when we shall complete the task and every well-finished task attracts rewards.
Bible Verse for Today
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” (Acts 20:24)
There is nothing better than starting a task and finishing it excellently well. Paul was so keen on finishing well, he wanted to finish the task set before him with joy. It’s not how you start; it’s how you finish that matters (Ecclesiastes 7:8). The secret of finishing well is having a closer relationship with God because we need his help to finish well. Another thing that can help us to get devoted to things we are doing and finish well is having passion for it.
God will reward us if we do according to his commandments and we’ll be blessed if we are committed to his works. An example is the parable of the three servants that received money from the master before going on a journey. The faithful ones that used the money well and finished well were rewarded and the one that didn’t use it was rejected (Matthew 25:14). Whatever God has put into your heart to do, do it with all your might. So also, anything you do today, do it with passion and be committed to it, you will get a good result. Ecclesiastes 9:10.
Finishing Well in Life Prayer for Today
Lord, I thank you because of the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end of everything. I want you to let me finishing well in life. The end of a thing is what matters most and I’m depending on you for a good finishing. It doesn’t matter how I have started Lord, but help me to finish well.
Anything I start today or that I have started that is yet to be completed. Help me to complete it well. Amen.
