Advent. God sent His Word – Prayer for December 4. The Word of God is what we hear every time and talk about all the time. This word can make a difference in our lives if we use it well. Let’s tell God to make his Word have an impact on us.
Bible Verse for Today
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
The Bible text is a popular verse of the Bible that we can recite very well but the story about the word which was written in John 1:1 did not stop there. What the Word became and the impact the Word made or will make was further elaborated in John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
This is the Word that has been with God from the time past and now he became flesh. This is God himself coming down as human to save the world and to teach them of his love.
What the world needs that time was the Word, when God sent his word, it doesn’t go back without working. This the reason why God had to send his Word because his word was scarce, people are waiting for the Word.
God has sent us his Word now. The Word came and that is Jesus that we all have been waiting for. The Word came and healed our disease, he came and took the pain away, he came and took the guilt and shame away. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.”
God is still sending his Word into our midst today. His Word still lives – Jesus is alive and he has the power to help us out of our problems. That is why the Bible says “the Word is alive and active” (Hebrews 4:12)
God Sent His Word Prayer for Today
I believe the word of the Lord is powerful and can help me out of my problems. The Word became flesh to help us, to teach us, and to give us power. I receive power today. Lord, help me to accept your Word and keep it in my heart all the days of my life. Amen.
