God is always with us – Prayer for November 17. Fear is described as ‘false evidence appearing real’. It can be an unpleasant emotion caused by an expectation of danger or evilness. Fear can create an ‘uneasiness of mind,’ as well as anxiety, solicitude, distress, terror, and fright.
Fear also prevents people from fulfilling their purpose for the Kingdom of God. Satan’s desire to smother us with calamities and doubt hinders us from tearing down and destroying satanic kingdoms and principalities.
Bible Verse for Today
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10).
“Fear not” is mentioned in the Bible approximately 365 times, which suggests that God is reminding us once a day to not fear. The truth is many situations and challenges in our personal lives may cause us to fear; the loss of a job, broken relationships, financial drought, and economic shocks.

On the other hand, fear can refer to giving respect, honor, and total submission to God. We are blessed when we fear the Lord and delight in His commandments (Psalm 112:1).
Also, God will bless those who fear Him (Psalm 115:13) and walk in His ways (Psalm 128:1-4). In fact, “the fear of the Lord prolongs life and leads to life” (Proverbs 10:27, 19:23). When we fear God, he helps to eliminate the negative emotions that cause fear in the natural because when we choose not to fear God, we fall into calamity. The fear of the Lord creates hope for His loving kindness and life amid famine (Psalm 33:19).
Joshua (during the installation as leader after the death of Moses) was instructed to “not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord Your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). Joshua had to lead the people of Israel across the Jordan River into the promised land.
In the same way, when we fear God, He promises that He will “give you every place where you set your foot”, (Joshua 1:3) as promised to Moses. So, fear not, for God is always with you. Let us pray a prayer against the spirit of fear.

Heavenly Father, I give you praise and honor for who you are. I fear you because you are the Almighty God who created the whole universe. I, therefore, live in awe and total submission to You.
