We are God’s beloved – Prayer for December 17. Praise the Lord, everybody! So often, when we as Christians are referred to as God’s beloved, created in His image, we have a hard time wrapping our heads around that fact. But the truth is out there.
Bible Verse for Today
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
We are God’s beloved. We are His treasured, cherished possession. That is a brutal truth to comprehend for many Christians daily. In this day of cyber-bullying, it is hard for Christians, especially young Christians, to feel like a cherished possession of God.

No matter your age, it is hard not to feel awkward and misunderstood in this world, making it hard to understand how The God of the universe even knows who we are, let alone see us as cherished possessions, yet He does!
God does adore us; His very nature shows us how much he loves us. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, unchangeable, and all-loving, yet He knows our names; He has counted the very hairs of our heads.
Despite His utter majesty, God sent His Son to die for us while we were yet His enemies. That is how much He loves us. And by getting to know Him in all His majesty, we will learn what it means to be truly loved. God bless you all!
We Are God’s Beloved Prayer for Today
Father God, thank you for loving us enough to send your Son to die for our sins so that we may be reconciled to you. Lord, help us to understand that if you are for us, who can be against us. Help us, Lord, to demonstrate our love toward you just as you demonstrate yours toward us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
