Grace to finish well – Prayer for January 5. What endurance helps to achieve is a crown. When you run the race not minding the words they’re throwing at you or what they are doing to make you give up, you will surely be crowned.
Bible Verse for Today
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1)
In the Olympics steeplechase, the competitors are to run jumping fences, ditch holes, and still run to win. This kind of race is not an easy kind of race in the Olympics as some athletes are found falling – the effort put into jumping can reduce the speed of the athlete but they have to keep running because of the reward at the end of it.
Also in the marathon, a long-distance race, most times they run up to forty-two kilometers. It takes endurance and consistency to win these kinds of race. In this same way, we are all in a race. From the time we were born till now we have been running, we have made choices that affect our lives and race but that shouldn’t stop us from running.
We should set our eyes on the price alone, that is what should be what drives us. Most of the time, the one who wins the marathon race is not the fastest but the one who is consistent and refuse to give up. Some will start running so fast to beat others but in the end, they get tired and stop running.
It is by grace that we can run till the end and get that crown. If there is any prayer we should be praying often now, it should be the grace to finish well and to run the race well because it is how we run that will determine where we will end up when Jesus comes.
Grace to Finish Well Prayer for Today
Lord, I put my life in your hands today. I know I am running a race in this life I’m in. I ask for the grace to finish well. Let me receive that golden crown at the end of it all. I pray that you help me to do away with things that will take me away from you. Let my choices be in line with your will for my life. Amen.
