Holy Spirit gives power – Prayer for Lent #day 36. In everything we do in this life, we need to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us through. If we want to discover treasure, if we want to hear God calling us, and if we want to show love in this time of Lent, we need the spirit of the Lord to guide us.
Let us tell God to send His spirit to us and guide us in all our ways.
Bible Verse for Today
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Romans 8:14)
One of the major roles of the Holy Spirit in the life of every Christian is to guide them and teach them what to do. John 16:13 says, “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”
At first, through the Holy Spirit, we get a vision from God and to follow it, we’ll still need the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit gives us the power to face any challenges that may come our way. Acts 1:8a says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.” While doing what has told us to do, the enemy will always rise to shift our focus from the goal and that’s why we need power through the Holy Spirit to stop them.
When Potiphar’s wife called Joseph to sleep with her, he could have easily yielded to that which Potiphar’s wife has said but the Spirit in him would not allow him, He gave him the power to say “no”.
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, nothing is hidden away from him – when we accept Jesus Christ, and we accept the Holy Spirit and our eyes would be opened to some truths that will direct our steps in discovering treasures.
We need to be careful and not rely on our knowledge if we want to get treasures. Satan himself will come with his treasure to distract us from focusing on the real source which is Jesus. Satan will give what will destroy life, he gives to exchange something worth more from our lives.
“But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14)
Holy Spirit Gives Power Prayer for Today
Lord, I believe in you! I believe that you have given me your spirit. And I know that the Holy Spirit is in me. I believe that the Holy Spirit will guide me and order my steps. Lord, I pray that if I am going the wrong way, bring me back to the right way and let the Holy Spirit guide me till the end. Amen.
