Jesus is the living word – Prayer for August 31. Praise the Lord, everybody! Some believers in the Body of Christ are still confused about why God gave us the Bible and where its power comes from. I hope this will help.
Bible Verse for Today
“Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against your magic charms with which you ensnare people like birds and I will tear them from your arms; I will set free the people that you ensnare like birds.” (Ezekiel 13:20 )
A Christian woman was once overheard in Church telling a fellow sister in Christ that if she wanted to stop the attacks by the enemy she was having at night, she needed to sleep with an open Bible at the head of her bed. The woman who said this was considered a Mature Elder of the Church.
It is hard to believe, but there are many such cases throughout the Body of Christ where Christians think of the Bible as more of a good luck charm than God’s word and that possessing one is more essential than studying it.
They have somehow become confused as to where the power of the Bible comes from.

It is hard to believe that the woman, who was thought of as a mature Christian, would think to use the Bible as a good luck charm. You see it all the time in the Body of Christ, believers talking about “keeping a Bible in every room” to protect their homes from demons.
The power of God is in the book, but you can access its capacity by opening it up and studying it until you have it in your heart, like David, who said in Psalm 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
Jesus is the living word
The Bible also tells us that “the word of God is alive and active” (Hebrews 4:12). We must remember that Jesus is the living word, and He is alive and active, and so is His word. So, don’t just plug into the Bible; plug into its words.
God bless you all.
Jesus is the Living Word Prayer for Today
Father God, thank you for your word, truth, and power. We remember that Jesus is the living word. Help us not to get caught up in the superstitions of this world. Lord, please let us not bring them into the Church. Father, help us remember to study your word so that we may know you and show ourselves approved. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
