SPENDING TIME IN GOD’S PRESENCE Prayer for November 4

Spending time in God’s presence – Prayer for November 4. Praise the Lord, everybody!

Over the past 30 years or so, I have noticed something about being a man of God, filled with the Holy Spirit to the point where the glory of God is shining brightly on your face: People try not to spend too much time around you, including other Christians.

Bible Verse for Today

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. (Exodus 34:29-30)

The glory of the Lord is a bright, sin-exposing, convicting, holy light that emanates from God and those who spend quality time in His presence and are filled with His spirit.

Understandably, the world is running away from the light.

Still, the children of Israel were God’s chosen people, and today, just as then, many of God’s people, Christians, prefer not to spend too much time in the presence of those who are spending quality time in God’s presence. So they not only cross the street if they can when they see them approaching, but they do their best to assault their character behind their backs.

Why does this happen when the opposite should be happening?

In other words, if you live right before God, there is no reason to hide; you want people to see what God is doing in you and through you.

Also, it is a beautiful thing to be able to freely enjoy the fellowship with the men and women of God when you are not concerned about how bright their light is shining on you because it just means more of God’s love and warmth in your life.

If a fault overtakes you, confess your sin, repent, and stay in the light. God’s word says if we confess our sins, God is faithful, forgives our sins, and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

Brothers and sisters must not “hate” those who have given themselves to God in such a way that His light shines through them. On the contrary, seek and encourage them because they have paid a high price for this anointing—just a little reflection. God bless you all.

Spending Time in God’s Presence Prayer for Today

Father God, we thank you for being light; there is no darkness in you. Lord, we want to spend more time in your presence. God, help us always walk in the light and be ready to share your light with the world. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
