Stay focused on God – Prayer for August 12. It is not easy to stay focused on God in this changing world. There are so many distractions in our lives, and it is challenging to stay focused on God daily.
Bible Verse for Today
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
Paul writes that he was “crucified with Christ.” In other words, he has stopped thinking of himself to live for God. We should do the same. Now you might say, “And me? Who cares about me?” This question usually keeps us from living the way God wants us to.
It is easy to deal with what we want, think, and feel. But those who only live for themselves are frustrated and empty in the end. On the other hand, it’s incredible what happens when we focus on God and what we can do for others: suddenly, we are free from the fear of not getting what we need and want.

The secret of joy is to give your life and not cling to it. Focus on God instead of yourself; he will show you how your life can become meaningful. Be encouraged to put God at your disposal each morning. If you do that, he will be faithful and help you to live a life that pleases him.
Stay Focused on God Prayer for Today
Lord, I give you everything I have! I no longer want to live for myself but for you. I promise to stay focused on God. Lord, I will start talking with you about the day ahead. God, I will keep you in the number one spot in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
