Dear friends, it is a pleasure to share these faith insights with you on March 12. In today’s devotional, “The Stronger Man,” we look at a moment in the Gospel of Luke where Jesus demonstrates his authority. It is a reminder that when God moves, no force can stand against him.
The Stronger Man – Daily Devotional for March 12
“But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” — Luke 11:20 (NIV)
A Kingdom United
In Luke 11, Jesus faces a crowd divided in their opinions of him. After he helps a man who could not speak, some people suggest that his authority comes from an evil source. Jesus responds with clear logic: a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. If he were working against himself, his work would fail.
This is a lesson for us today. Conflict and division are often signs that the enemy is trying to weaken a family, a church, or a community. Unity is not just a nice idea; it is a source of spiritual strength.
When we stand together in faith, we represent the kingdom of God in a way that is stable and resilient.
The Finger of God
Jesus says he drives out evil with the “finger of God.” This phrase highlights how easily God handles what seems impossible to us. What looks like a giant mountain to a human is nothing more than a small task for the Creator.
When you feel overwhelmed by your circumstances, remember that God does not have to struggle to help you. His presence is enough to shift any situation. The fact that Jesus could change someone’s life so completely was proof that the kingdom of God was active and present right there in the moment.
The Stronger One
Jesus describes a “strong man” who guards his house, feeling secure in his own armor. But then he speaks of someone “stronger” who attacks and overpowers him. In our lives, the enemy may try to act as the strong man, holding us back with fear, habit, or doubt.
However, Jesus is the Stronger One. He has the authority to enter any situation, take away the armor that the enemy relies on, and set us free. You do not have to fight these battles in your own strength. When you align yourself with Christ, you are on the side of the one who has already won the victory.

Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are stronger than any challenge I face today. Lord, I ask for Your protection over my heart and my home. Help me to be a person who builds unity rather than division. I rely on Your “finger” to move the obstacles in my path. Thank You for the victory that belongs to me through Jesus Christ. Amen.
To You
Is there an area of your life where you feel like you are in a stalemate? Ask the “Stronger Man,” Jesus, to step into that situation today and take control. Trust that his authority is greater than whatever is holding you back.
