Talking with God – Prayer for November 27. Prayer can be defined as talking to God. Prayer also involves listening to what God has to say to us. He desires that we communicate with Him and listen to Him. Prayer is also where we seek the face of God and turn from our wicked ways. When we pray to our Father, we will then hear from heaven.
Bible Verse for Today
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Prayer is powerful because it brings about deliverance, freedom, and release. Through prayer, personal challenges and difficult situations change in line with God’s authority. Prayer not only changes conditions but also demonstrates our love for God. Prayer changes the spiritual atmospheres of a problem, government, person, economy, and work situation.
A person can also intercede on behalf of another person. In other words, they are standing in the gap of a situation on behalf of someone else.
The prayer of intercession is therefore powerful because the “weapon of intercession has the divine power to dismantle strongholds, arguments and every pretension that tries to revolt against the knowledge of God” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Furthermore, the power of prayer is significant in our lives because living a life of prayer gives you strength and authority to bind foul spirits at work (Matthew 12:28-29).
It was through the power of prayer that while Paul and Silas were in prison, at midnight, as they were praying and singing to God, there was a great earthquake, and the very foundations of the prison began to shake. The prison doors were opened, and the chains of the prisoners were loosened (Acts 16:25-26).
Therefore, we seek God’s power in our weakness when we pray. Through a deep relationship with God, through talking with God, our prayer lives become more vibrant, spiritual atmospheres change, and God’s plans are revealed. Equally, the more we realize the power of prayer, He will show us the hidden things of heaven (Jeremiah 33:3).
Talking with God Prayer for Today
Dear Father, thank you for making it possible to communicate directly to You through your Son, Jesus Christ. So, help me to develop a consistent and purposeful prayer life. I pray, Father, that you will hear every prayer. I also ask that you help me to pray so that every prayer moves heaven and earth and disturbs hell. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
