Advent. The Lord’s coming is near—Prayer for December 21. The Bible says that in the end time, many things will happen, things bad, but also that it is in the last days that God will pour out his spirit. Let’s tell God to keep us in these last days.
Bible Verse for Today
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
Reading this alone should raise one’s concern about what is coming or what is already happening now. We Christians are trying hard to avoid all these things that will happen, but if we do it by our power, we will not win this battle.
All these things happening will make us know that the time of the Lord’s coming is near. At the same time, God told us what he will also do for us in the last days. Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”
The reason why God promised that He will pour His spirit on us is due to what will be happening in the last days. We can’t go about being powerless.
So we have to stand up and take hold of the Prophecy and the promises of God that He is going to give us His spirit and we must use the Spirit of God in us to stand against all the things that are going to happen in the last days.

We need to tell God to help us and to give us the strength to stand and continue to walk in the spirit until Jesus comes.
The Lord’s Coming is Near – Prayer for Today
Lord, I want to thank you for the strength you have given me to stand strong in these last days. I believe you always be there to guide and to hold me up in your hands so that I don’t fall into temptation. I pray, Lord, that you give me the power to keep going. Pour your spirit on me and let I walk in your spirit and not in flesh. Amen.
