Creativity opens up broad horizons for life. The talents and imagination that God has given us seek ways of expression. The Apostle Paul comments on the rules everyone should follow in exercising their talents. You belong to Jesus.
Devotional for Today, January 26
All are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God. (1 Corinthians 3:22-23)
You belong to Jesus
Biblical Rule: Everything is yours. But you yourselves are Christ’s.
“All things are yours.” But this privilege is not the highest value. Above it is what Paul identifies in verse 23: “But you yourselves are Christ’s.” (1 Corinthians 3:21-23)
If this subordination is absent in man, his freedom degrades into savagery.
Be part of the Kingdom of God
The Cross of Christ is the factor that gives value to every human creation process. The value lies in the fact that our creations, good works, and achievements are for building the Kingdom of God.
We begin building the Kingdom of Heaven while we are still here on earth. When you accept Jesus, accept His death on the cross, and His resurrection, the Kingdom of God begins in your life.
That’s why Jesus says, lay up for yourselves treasure in Heaven.
Devotional for every day here: Daily Devotional
The end of the building will be when your life’s journey is over, and you are allowed to enter into the Kingdom you have participated in building. Enter the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Heaven.
Be proud of the Cross of Jesus
Here we have the answer to the eternally relevant question: why does God’s love reach us precisely through suffering?
The answer is 1 Corinthians 1:29: “So that no man may boast in the sight of God.” In the cross of Jesus, human pride, greed, and the desire for power and knowledge are dead-ended and cannot flourish.
You belong to Jesus. We are genuinely free only when we fully acknowledge our dependence on God.
Prayer for Today
God, who in the world could stand before you? Man, his days, his works are passing away. Only You remain. Your day lasts forever. That is why I turn to You every day. I am Your child, and I need Your blessing and protection daily. Thank You for Your love and for everything You give to my life. I want to serve You, my Lord. Amen.
