When the things we face in our lives loom so big in our eyes that our minds go “tilt,” we need to think in the spirit. Today, in our Daily Devotional for July 8, let’s explore how having faith for the impossible opens the door to God’s unlimited power in our lives.
Daily Devotional for July 8
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'” – Matthew 19:26 (NIV)
Faith for the Impossible
Many things seem impossible in the natural world. But nothing is impossible in the supernatural, spiritual realm with God. God wants us to believe in great things, make big plans, and expect Him to do things so great they leave us in awe. James 4:2 reminds us that we have not because we ask not! We can be bold in our asking.
Boldly Asking God
Sometimes, people hesitate to ask God for too much, thinking they should limit their requests. However, God encourages us to ask boldly. When we pray, we should do so with confidence and faith, trusting that God is more than enough to handle all our needs and desires.
In my meetings, people often approach the altar for prayer and sheepishly ask if they can request two things. I tell them they can ask God for all they want to, as long as they trust Him to do His way in His timing.
Standing in Faith
When you pray, do it standing up on the inside. This means praying respectfully yet aggressively and boldly. Recall that God said He is the Almighty God (Genesis 17:1)—in other words, “more than enough.” Trusting in God’s unlimited power allows us to approach Him with great expectations.
Expecting the Miraculous
Faith for the impossible means believing that God can and will do miraculous things in our lives. It requires us to step out of our natural limitations and into the supernatural possibilities that God offers. This kind of faith pleases God and invites His miraculous intervention.

Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God of the impossible. Help us have faith in the impossible, ask boldly, and trust in Your unlimited power. Teach us to pray with confidence, stand firm in our faith, and expect great things. May our lives reflect Your miraculous power and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
To You
What areas in your life do you need to have faith in the impossible? How can you step out of your natural limitations and trust in God’s supernatural power?
