Advent. Prophecy on the birth of Jesus – Prayer for December 2. Prophecy is a prediction of the future, how it will look like, what will happen, and sometimes when it will happen. Prophet Isaiah gave a prophecy about the birth of Jesus and it came to pass.
Bible Verse for Today
“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
Prophecy can be given by different people, some prophecies can be accurate and true while some are just lies to deceive. The authentication of a prophecy depends on the person it came from. There can be evil prophecy and there can be a good prophecy.
Prophet Isaiah, as inspired by God, gave a prophecy about the one who will come to save the world from sin and hell. According to him, who is to come is God himself, coming in power and might – which is why “Mighty God” was used.
Prophecy on the birth of Jesus had been told by Isaiah about 700 years before the birth of Jesus. This prophecy is the prophecy of hope that is given to man that it is not over yet. Men can still be saved.
It is not only Prophet Isaiah who gave this prophecy of hope – there are other prophecies on the birth of Jesus too from other prophets.
The word of the Lord does not change, when he tells his servant what to say – what will happen, it happens. God has promised us in the same way that he knows that plan he has for us, good plans. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is a prophecy of hope to us in this generation and we must hold onto it.
It’s not the time to give up, but the time to be strong. God has also promised to cancel the evil prophecy against us. Isaiah 8:10 says, “Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; Speak the word, but it will not stand, For God is with us.”
Prophecy on the birth of Jesus Prayer for Today
Heavenly Lord, you promised us that the Messiah will come and he came to deliver us from sin and death. Lord, I thank you because you’re truthful and you never fail. I pray that all the promise you have made concerning my life shall come to pass and every prophecy against me shall be nullified. Amen.
