Watch your words – Prayer for March 6. The power of life and death is in the tongue, so we must use it with caution. Let’s tell God to make us speak edifying words today. Watch your words.
Bible Verse for Today
“Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.” (Proverbs 21:23)
No one has discover a better way to transmit what is inside one person to the inside of another than through words. A slap to a face or a kiss doesn’t get past the outer layer of skin, but a word spoken can infiltrate to the very depth of the soul and we live with its influence forever. Learning to manage our mouth by controlling our tongue should be near the top of our priority list. The words you speak is important to your life and to the life of other people you choose to speak them to.
God created the world by his words. In a similar way, you and I create our personal everyday world by the words we speak and the words others speak to us. Many times in his word, God expresses a concern that we guard our mouth against the misuse of our words to others. Ephesians 4:29 “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
