God is watching – Prayer for March 5. Everything we do, even in secret, God sees it all. God is watching.
Bible Verse for Today
“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:13)
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note and posted it on the apple tray: “Take only one. God is watching.”
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, “Take all you want, God is watching the apples.”
The summary of what this boy is thinking is that whenever nobody is watching, you can do anything you like.
Your habits form your character, and your character determines how far you can go in life.
Surely we know that God sees us even when no one else can, and God is concerned about the reputation you build for yourself because it will affect the work of God and can determine how high God can promote you. You can either demote or promote yourself with your character.
If you are fond of lying and people know this, then you cannot be given an important responsibility. Your abilities would be limited. So you watch your character today because God doesn’t want your reputation to be tarnished.
Prayer for Today
Dear Lord, you have brought me to this new day again. It is an opportunity you give me to get the most out of today. I thank you for yesterday, you did well, and I am trusting you for a better day today. Lord, I want to thank you for your love. I want to thank you because your love never ends.
I depend on your word and your word alone, Lord. I want to grow in the Word and never stop growing. Lord, I know that growing in your word attracts so many blessings and brings one closer to you. I desire these, Lord; therefore, I request your help to continue in your word so that I will grow.
Help me, Lord, to be conscious of my character and let my reputation not be tarnished today. Amen.
