Change is scary, but it is a necessary condition for your growth. Don’t be afraid of change. Learn to embrace the changes when you allow God to lead you forward. Here is an example from the Gospel of Matthew.
Devotional for Today, October 1
Jesus’ central message to the people of the Chosen People at that time is a call:
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-30)
In this invitation, Jesus reveals himself as the only true teacher who leads to life in the way the Creator, the Heavenly Father, intended.

Jesus’ words make it clear that the Old Testament has reached its fulfillment and that the time for the New Testament is coming.
The “scribes” and theologians of the time understandably had great difficulty accepting this new information. They were afraid even to think about the change.
They had memorized their religious and cultural rules, and any change would have driven them to despair. They could not accept that from now on, it was not them but Jesus who was the only teacher of life.
The fear of change is at the heart of the conflict between Jesus and the scribes and the Pharisees. So naturally, they resisted Jesus and tried to remove him.
But God’s plan always goes ahead and comes to fruition, regardless of human attitudes or opposition.
Don’t be afraid of change
Perhaps we, too, find it difficult to accept God’s call. That’s because we are used to the old way of life and are afraid of change and challenges. But God is calling us not to stop, not to be frightened, but to move on to the next stage in building the Kingdom of God.
A person afraid of change will never grow big in God’s grace. But life always leads to new beginnings. God bless you all.
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I adore You and thank You for the gift of life. You have called me into this world to be a reflection of Your glory. Life is full of changes, but You give me this as an opportunity to serve You and all humanity. Teach me and help me to accept the challenges with open arms and to grow daily in Your grace. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
