Excellent news for those who can’t find the answer to the question “who am I?”. This is a message for those still searching for their identity and cannot decide who they are. Today’s Bible verse, which we read in the daily devotional on February 4, puts us on the path. God loves your body.
Devotional for Today, February 4
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? (full text at 1 Corinthians 6:12-20)
Your Person is the Sanctuary
If you still don’t know who you are, begin your philosophy of life by acknowledging that you are God’s temple. “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit?” (1Cor 6:19)

The human personality comprises the material body and the spiritual soul. The two are inextricably linked—separating one from the other results in death.
You cannot ignore or hate your body. Every Christian is a temple of the Holy Spirit, not only in the soul but also in the body.
God Loves your Body
The Holy Spirit sanctifies your body. Therefore, with all the needs and physiological processes of the body, the human person is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.
So your body may be imperfect. Perhaps you do not like the shape of your body. But this is no obstacle to God. He loves you as you are with body and soul. He has made you His temple.
How is this news for you? Have you never thought that you are essential to God and that He loves you with your body and soul?
God gives honor to the whole man and the body value and benefit.
You are the Master of your Body
But the Christian understands that the flesh needs are not to be worshiped. The body is a fragile dwelling place for our soul.
control your body and do not let the body control you
Therefore, the passions and desires of the flesh are not the driving force of our lives. So, likewise, the needs of the flesh cannot be the determining factor in the way we live.
Of course, some things are incompatible with the status of God’s Sanctuary. Alcohol abuse, drugs, fornication, laziness, and many other things can destroy a person. It is disrespectful to God.
Therefore, control your body and do not let the body control you. God has appointed you to be the master of your body.
Understand that you, your personality with your body and soul, is where we meet God.
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for accepting me as I am. You have made me an imperfect human being, Your temple. Transform my life so that others may be led to seek You through the witness of my life. Please give all the people I meet in my life the opportunity to come to You, to know You, and to believe. I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
