God is One Unique and Holy – Prayer for May 3. We serve a unique and holy God, there’s no one like him in heaven and on earth. Let’s trust in him alone for greater things.
Bible Verse for Today
“Among the gods, there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.” (Psalm 86:8)
In the Bible text, David poured out his heart because he was in despair. He realized that there is no other god he can call for help whenever he is in trouble and every time he call on the true God for help, he is always there to help. Because David has given his life to the Lord, he called him to intervene in every area of his life. In the course of David’s confession, he pointed out the reason why believers must solely believe in God and the reason is that God is so unique.
The passage should remind us of the awesome power of God, having it in mind that there is nothing cannot do, that he is able to respond to prayers from a sincere heart. Even though David was committed to God, there were yet certain areas of life that he needed God to intervene. Because we are Christians doesn’t make us be free from challenges.
In fact, we will face it more often, there would be trials. But the good news is that we have a unique and holy God, the one who oversees the affairs of his children. We must rely on him today and get a unique blessing from him.
God is One Unique and Holy Prayer for Today
Lord, you are unique and holy – you are powerful, you are the greatest, and you are a loving Father. I depend on you only for blessing today. I have no other god that can help me in times of my troubles. I trust your power, I, therefore, surrender all I have to you to control. Let people see your miracle-working power in me today. Amen.
