God is One Unique and Holy – Prayer for May 3. We serve a unique and holy God; there’s no one like him in heaven and on earth. Let’s trust in him alone for greater things.
Bible Verse for Today
“Among the gods, there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.” (Psalm 86:8)
In the Bible, David poured out his heart in despair. He realized that there is no other god he can call on for help when he is in trouble, and every time he calls on the true God, the true God is always there to help.
Because David has given his life to the Lord, he called him to intervene in every area of his life. In the course of David’s confession, he explained why believers must trust solely in God: God is unique.
The passage should remind us of the awesome power of God, with the understanding that He can do anything and that He responds to prayers from a sincere heart. Even though David was committed to God, there were certain areas of life in which he needed God to intervene. Being Christians doesn’t make us free from challenges.
In fact, we will face it more often; there will be trials. But the good news is that we have a unique and holy God, the one who oversees the affairs of his children. We must rely on him today and get a unique blessing from him.
Prayer for Today
Lord, you are unique and holy – you are powerful, you are the greatest, and you are a loving Father. I depend on you only for the blessing today. I have no other god who can help me in times of trouble. I trust your power. I, therefore, surrender all I have to you to control. Let people see your miracle-working power in me today. Amen.
