Was last year good? It is not always easy to answer such a question because we do not have a complete picture of what happened, what the consequences were, and what could have happened but did not happen. The only particular fact is that the Lord was with us like a loving father. Let us take a moment to look back and offer our heartfelt gratitude to God for His unwavering love, grace, and protection throughout the past year.

Reflecting on the year gone by, we recognize God’s constant presence and the multitude of ways He has blessed and sustained us.
Thankfulness for His Love
What gift from God are we most grateful for in the past year? When I think about this question, the first thing that comes to mind is God’s love for me. Yes, God’s love has been the bedrock of the past year. Through joys and trials, His love has remained steadfast, a source of comfort and strength. Let us thank Him for the moments when His love was most evident and when it was our unseen support.
Gratitude for His Grace
Each day of the past year has been a testament to God’s grace. Whether in moments of achievement or failure, His grace has been sufficient. Many mistakes and stumbles happened this year, and we would be lost without God’s grace. We thank Him for every lesson learned, the growth experienced, and the forgiveness received.
Acknowledging His Protection
In a world of uncertainties, God’s protection has been our shield. We don’t even realize it, but over the years, there have been many visible and invisible dangers in which the Lord has protected and defended us many times. There were many moments of divine intervention. Let gratitude to God flow today.

Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, as this year draws to a close, my heart overflows with gratitude for Your constant presence and abundant blessings. Thank You for Your unfailing love, which has been my comfort and joy in every season of this year. Thank You for Your grace that has carried me through challenges, shaped my character, and brought forgiveness and renewal. Your grace has been the canvas on which my year’s story was painted. I am profoundly grateful for Your protection over my life. In moments of danger and uncertainty, Your hand has been my safeguard and guide. As I reflect on the year, help me see Your hand in every detail and carry a heart full of trust and thanksgiving into the new year. May my life continually be an expression of gratitude for all You are and have done. Lord, as I step into the new year, I do so with anticipation and hope, knowing that You go before me. I commit this coming year to You. May it be filled with opportunities to serve You, to grow in You, and to reflect Your love to others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
