Lenten Devotional – Day 7
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8)
Our internal conversations can either build us up or tear us down. Constant negative self-talk can lead to feelings of unworthiness, anxiety, and spiritual stagnation. On the other hand, speaking truth, encouragement, and God’s promises into your life can bring strength, confidence, and lasting peace.
Identifying Your Inner Narrative
Lent is meant to allow us to look inside ourselves with courage and honesty. So today, a specific question for you: What messages do you feed your soul? Are your inner messages filled with criticism, doubt, anxiety, or negativity? Do you often question your worth or feel inadequate?
Recognizing these unhealthy thought patterns is essential. Awareness empowers you to intentionally shift your focus toward God’s uplifting truths.
Remember, you become what you consistently believe about yourself. Replace destructive messages with affirmations rooted in God’s Word. You are loved, forgiven, and valued deeply by your Creator.
Cultivating a Positive, God-Centered Inner Dialogue
Starting today, choose deliberately to speak life-giving messages to your soul. Begin by meditating on scripture, intentionally declaring God’s truths over your life. Remind yourself daily of your worth and identity in Christ (Romans 12:2).
Practice gratitude, celebrate your progress, and learn to offer yourself the same grace God generously extends to you. This shift in your inner dialogue will positively transform your emotions, relationships, and spiritual growth.

- Identify at least three negative messages you’ve believed and replace each with a positive, God-centered truth.

Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, You know every thought and word I speak silently within myself. Today, I bring my inner dialogue before You, asking You to cleanse my mind of negativity, self-doubt, and false beliefs. Fill me instead with Your truth, confidence, and joy. Teach me to speak words of life, hope, and encouragement to my soul. May my thoughts and words always align with Your love and grace.
