Being addicted to anything is not what God wants for us. God wants us to rely solely on Him for our provision and support in life, as Philippians 4:19 states clearly, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” However, we are all human and have free will; thus, many people have some form of addiction. For those addicted and looking for a way out or for those who love the addict, a powerful prayer against addiction for healing and recovery is needed.
All prayer is powerful, and this simple prayer against addiction, for healing and recovery, may be the start of breaking the addictive habit in yourself or someone you care about.

What is Prayer?
Prayer is one of the most powerful transactions known to man and is always answered, just as this powerful prayer against addiction will be. It is a gift from God and an open door to his throne where you alone can converse with your Father.
Prayer can be relied on, and many people live by the word PUSH or Pray Until Something Happens.
There are around 650 prayers in the Bible, and everyone was answered. Prayer is personal and can be spoken out loud or in your head. But prayer must be proper communication with God.
Christ prayed often; just before His crucifixion, he went to a quiet place to pray as He knew it was the only way to talk to the Father when facing any trial.
The powerful prayer against addiction is prayer is perhaps not so different from the prayer Jesus prayed before he was persecuted and died on the cross.
How Do I Pray?
The Bible sets out the best instructions on how to pray. Matthew 6:6 says, “But when you pray, go into your room, shut the door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” And this is by far the most powerful way to pray.
Prayer for addiction recovery should not be just a quick “Help me, God” but a period set aside to be God on purpose. It might only mean stopping for a few minutes during the day. In doing so, you are giving precedence to God and honoring Him.
Addiction is a tough life challenge but can be conquered through prayer. Pray without fear of anxiety and by trusting what is written in God’s Word in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Rest assured, your prayers will be answered.
