Powerful Prayer Against Addiction for healing and recovery
Father God, with you I know all things are possible and humbly ask that you hear my prayer in my time of need. I ask for forgiveness and total healing in the name of Jesus Christ that I may overcome this addiction. I choose to surrender my soul and body to you, to serve you and honour you, refusing to be a slave to (Addiction). With your help and through the power of the Holy Spirit I will fight my addiction with your strength not mine and will be set free in your name. Amen
What is Prayer?
Prayer is one of the most powerful transactions known to man and is always answered just as this powerful prayer against addiction will be. It is a free gift from God and an open door to his throne where you alone can have a conversation with your Father. Prayer can be relied on and many people live by the word PUSH or Pray Until Something Happens.
There are around 650 prayers in the Bible and every one of them was answered. Prayer is personal and can either be spoken out loud or just prayed in your head. But prayer must be a true communication with God. Christ prayed often; just before His crucifixion, he went to a quiet place to pray as He knew it was the only way to talk to the Father when facing any trial. The powerful prayer against addiction is prayer is perhaps not so different to the prayer Jesus prayed before he was persecuted and died on the cross.
How do I pray?
The Bible sets out the best instructions on how to pray. Matthew 6:6 says “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” And this is by far the most powerful way to pray. Prayer should not be just a quick “Help me God” but should be a period of time set aside to be God on purpose. It might only mean stopping for a few minutes during the day. In doing so you are giving precedence to God and honouring Him.
Addiction is a tough life challenge to overcome but through prayer is can be conquered. Pray without fear of anxiety and by trusting what is written in God’s Word in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Rest assured your prayers will be answered.
