Seek strength from your heavenly Father
We need to say prayers for strength because our personal lives can bring about heart rendering situations where it becomes impossible to rely on ourselves. It then becomes necessary to seek strength, support, and guidance from our heavenly Father, who cares for us. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

Prayers for Strength in Financial Difficulties or Debt Situations
In situations such as financial difficulties or debt, we may experience despondency because not being able to pay back money owed to creditors can lead to physical and mental health problems. Such effects can include anxiety, stress, stealing, lying to cover the situation, and bankruptcy.
The fact is, everyone is exposed to debt. If not recognized and dealt with professionally, a person could also face eviction from their home due to their inability to pay their monthly mortgage or rent. God’s Word reminds us, “Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law (Romans 13:7-8).
Let us say prayers for strength for those in debt
Heavenly Father, we pray for those who are imprisoned by an increasing burden of debts and cannot see a way out. Holy Spirit, You are an enabler; therefore, with You, it is possible for those bound by their debts to be set free in Jesus’ Name. Father, give every person hope and strength to tackle challenging situations and faith the size of a mustard seed. As they cry out to You in their distress, will you hear their petition and give strength as they put their hope and confidence in You, Amen.
Prayers for Strength in Times of Sickness
It is the prayers for strength that help those who are experiencing sickness, whether short-term or long-term.
God said in James 5:14-16, “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the church elders to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”.
In times of sickness, it is important to be encouraged and strengthened by the Word of God, family members, and others around you. This is because the disease can cause a person to feel anxious, depressed, angry, worried, sad, or even frightened due to losing control of their body.
But we should not be anxious about anything. Instead, in prayer and supplication, we should make our requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6). Our prayers overpower anxious thoughts, in turn leading to the peace of God, guarding our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Let us say prayers for strength for those who are sick
Our Father, we believe in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ and that by Your stripes, we are healed. So, we thank you that our hope and trust for healing is in You. So right now, by your authority and power, will you heal (person’s name) so that they can experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding; the peace that guards our hearts and minds in Jesus’ Name – Thank You, Father!
Prayers for Strength in Times of Loneliness and Lack of Love
Psychological issues can occur due to loneliness and a lack of love not demonstrated by family members (parents and guardians) and society. This can then result in emotional sicknesses, such as depression.
But we can draw strength from God in that “though father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me” (Psalm 27:10). As such, we must surround ourselves with people who care for one another and are willing to offer strength and support. For example, extended family members, friends, and the church family.
Therefore, those experiencing loneliness or feeling unloved can be confident that God demonstrated His love by giving up His only son, an act of pure love (John 3:16). Those facing loneliness or a lack of love can rest assured that “Your God, the Lord himself, will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
It is also necessary for a person to experience self-love because individuals can even feel lonely despite being in a room full of people. By God’s grace, “that I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).
It is in times of loneliness and a lack of love that we need to offer prayers for strength
Father, thank You that You are the God of comfort and love. It is through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross that the power of love was manifested for all humanity. So, please stretch out Your arms so that anyone feeling lonely or unloved right now will feel and sense Your agape love. I know that Love never fails. But now faith, hope, and love abide these three; the greatest of these is love.
When you face difficult situations – financial difficulties, sickness, loneliness – remember that God is always with you. Just talk to Him, ask for help in prayers for strength.
