Rely on Jesus – Prayer for January 11. The people we call friends might stop being our friends, and some may go against us with time. The only friend we should rely on is Jesus.
Bible Verse for Today
“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:15)
Jesus has transferred us from being a servant to becoming a friend. Jesus is our greatest friend who will never leave us now. If we are faced with a bad situation, the only person we can tell who will listen and then act to help us is Jesus. In this life, there are people that we must look into very well and see if they are worthy to be our friends.
Some people pretend to be your friend but are always looking for your downfall. Care must be taken if to choose a friend comes in. Having too many friends won’t solve any of our problems either. There are promises from Jesus to us; we must stick to the promises and get closer to him.
Moses took God as his friend; he talked to him face to face. Exodus 33:11a: “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” To talk to Jesus like you talk to your friends, there must be a connection between you and him.
The bond must be strong; a strong relationship must be established. Whatever you face in life, whatever the situation is, don’t forget to tell Jesus about it. He is the master and has a solution to every problem you may face.

Rely on Jesus – Prayer for Today
Lord, thank you for making your friend, not just an ordinary servant. You have promised that anything we ask you, you will do for us. Today, Lord, I pray that you make everything I do perfect, let me be blessed in all I do, and let the works of my hands prosper. Lord, help me trust you more than I will trust any other person, and help me depend on you alone. Amen.
