Sharing God’s Love – Prayer for May 19. A banner is used to identify something, and it shows what or who something or someone belongs to. So let’s tell God to raise his flag over us, who share God’s love so that people can identify us with him.
Bible Verse for Today
“Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.” (Song of Solomon 2:4)
Flags were made from their medieval equivalents, known then as standards military, to announce the presence of an army. So banners can indicate the presence of an essential personality at occasions like tournaments and ceremonies. A banner always bears the insignia of the person or nation it publishes.
The flags of these modern days are not much different; it is a national symbol, the focus of national unity and loyalty.
Its general features usually symbolize the nation’s history, geography, and aspirations.

The body of Christ is a nation of priests and an army of the Lord. We have an indisputable banner. Though not material, it is real and eternal. This banner of Christ inspires true Christians to fight to the end manfully. His love is our banner, and we are sharing God’s love.
King Solomon and the Israelites have tasted God’s love, which is why King Solomon mentioned the love of God as the banner over him. It was out of this love that God delivered them from the hands of the Egyptians.
Out of this same love, Jesus died for us to rescue us from sin. The banner of love that God has placed over us, we must show to people; it shows our identity as one who is from God. The wicked and sinful world requires compassion and love; we must extend the banner to the world.
