Walking in the light of Christ- Prayer for August 20. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!! Have you ever been in a dark room, struggling to find a light switch? That’s sort of what it feels like in a world without Christ.

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Have you ever noticed the trouble with walking in darkness? You can’t walk confidently, and you must take baby steps and feel your way around. You are stumbling and bumbling your way to your destination with fear and trepidation.
Those who are without Christ find themselves in this situation daily. They must depend on what they can touch or feel for direction and guidance. In Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are given the choice to walk in the light or the darkness.

When you choose to walk in the light, you can walk confidently, knowing that Jesus, the world’s light, is leading the way by His spirit. As Christians, we are called to walk by faith, not sight. The light we are walking in is spiritual light, not a natural one. That spiritual light allows us our gift of discernment to avoid the snares and pitfalls laid out for us by the devil.
God wants us to walk in confidence, trusting in His guidance. Walk in faith, walk in the light, walk with Jesus. God bless you all.
Walking in the light of Christ Prayer for Today
Father God, help us to walk in confidence today and every day. We thank you for sending your son to die for us so that we can have a choice to walk in your light. Father, let us walk in the light and bring your light to others in darkness. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
