LORD, WE WILL CONTINUE IN THE FAITH Prayer for August 21

continue in the faith

Lord, we will continue in the faith – Prayer for August 21. Praise the living God from whom all blessings flow. Christians sometimes endure trials and tribulations where the hits keep coming. Brothers and Sisters, fret not because God has a purpose in allowing these things to happen to you, and God knows best.

Bible Verse for Today

“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” (Luke 22:31-32)

Like Simon, all believers are targeted by Satan for “sifting.” The more zealous you are for God, the more attractive you are to him for sifting.

When the devil is sifting us by putting our faith through all kinds of tests, we must hold fast to our beliefs, knowing that Jesus is aware of what we are going through and has prayed for us that our faith will not fail. Because if it fails, not only does the devil win, but all those whom you were to “strengthen” by the testimony of your victory and deliverance also lose.

Just as He told Peter, Jesus is also telling us that even with all that help, we may still falter for a moment, and when we have returned to him, to use our experience to “feed” our sisters and brothers.

Jesus knows the day-to-day battles believers face because He faced them Himself. Whether we persevere or slip and fall, we must continue in the faith, knowing that we can use all we experience in Christ to help feed and strengthen each other. God bless you all.

Continue in the Faith Prayer for Today

Father God, we want to thank you for coming down and putting on flesh so that you may experience the same temptations we face daily. Help us, Lord, to constantly strengthen our brothers and sisters as you take us through our various trials and tribulations. Lord, we will continue in the faith. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
