Lord, we will continue in the faith – Prayer for August 21. Praise the living God from whom all blessings flow. As Christians, we sometimes go through a series of trials and tribulations where it seems like the hits just keep on coming. Brothers and Sisters, fret not, because God has a purpose in allowing these things to happen to you, and God knows best.
Bible Verse for Today
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren. (Luke 22:31-32)
Like Simon, all believers are targeted by Satan for “sifting”. It seems the more zealous you are for God the more attractive you are to him for sifting.
When the Devil is sifting you by putting your faith through all kinds of tests, we as believers must hold fast to our beliefs knowing that Jesus is aware of what we are going through and has prayed for us that our faith would not fail. Because if it fails, not only does the devil win but all those who you were to “strengthen” by the testimony of your victory and deliverance, lose also.
Jesus is also telling us just as He told Peter, that even with all that help, we may still falter for a moment, and when we have returned to him, to use our experience to “feed” our sisters and brothers.
Jesus knows the day-to-day battles believers face because He faced them Himself. Whether we persevere, or whether we slip and fall, we must continue in the faith, knowing that all we experience in Christ we can use to help feed and strengthen each other. God bless you all.

Father God, we want to thank you for coming down and putting on flesh, so that you may experience the same temptations we face in this world every day. We thank you that you are praying even now for us, help us Lord to always to strengthen our brothers and sisters as you take us through our various trials and tribulations. Lord, we will continue in the faith. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
