Know who you are in Christ – Devotional Prayer for November 15. Within a family context, we may be seen as mom, dad, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, or nephew. When a person becomes married, they take on new identities, such as daughter or son-in-law; mothers become mothers-in-law, and fathers become fathers-in-law. It is the same when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior; our identity becomes transformed, and it is by the power of the Holy Spirit working within us that we can be confident of who we are in Christ.
Bible Verse for Today
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10)
Therefore, knowing who you are in Christ means you are no longer called a sinner, but you now become a sinner saved by grace. We are no longer a generation of darkness.

When we know who we are in Christ, we can walk in boldness, confidence, and security. Knowing who you are in Christ also eliminates fear and doubt, knowing that being in Christ enables you to walk ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit.’ (Zechariah 4:6).
You must know who you are in Christ because you are not what society says you are. You are not what your friends, educational institutions, or employers label you to be.
But you are unique in the sight of God. If you receive Him and believe in the name of Jesus Christ, you have been given the right to be called children of God (John 1:12). We are one with Him in Spirit, which means that we have been created in the likeness of God.
If we have been created in the image of God, we have been fearfully and wonderfully made, and we are complete in Him. Let us pray for knowing who you are in Christ.

Dear Father, I pray you will grant me a clear revelation of who I am in You. I pray that You will help me to live by Your identity of how You see me rather than what society says I am. You said I am fearfully and wonderfully made; I am a royal priesthood and unique in your sight. So, I thank You that I am your child created in Your image. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
