Walk without fear – Prayer for December 16. Praise the Lord, everybody!
These last few years, we have seen hazards on the left and historic storms and weather on the right. Hospitals worldwide are experiencing super-infections, war is breaking out in Europe, energy and economic crises are breaking out, and the world seems to be in turmoil. Who can we turn to in such difficult times?
Bible Verse for Today
“He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings, you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night
nor the arrow that flies by day.” (Psalm 91:4-5)
It is surprising to hear blood-washed Saints of God expressing fear due to the signs of the times. They are afraid to leave their homes, fearing being hit by a stray bullet.

God tells us in His word not to fear these things. It’s not easy seeing the tragedies on television day in and day out and not being affected. We read God’s promises and know all Bible stories of God’s deliverance and protection, yet when things get a little close to home, doubt tends to creep in.
In times like these, we must remind ourselves of everything God has done for us. Where He has brought us from, and where He has taken us. Yes, we should be “prayed up” before we leave our homes every day, asking God for traveling mercies, then all that’s left is to believe God.
Jesus told us that when we pray, we must pray to believe that He will give us what we ask for. A writer once wrote, “These are the times that try men’s souls.” In truth, these are the times that try men’s faith, and we know that without faith, it is impossible to please God. God bless you all.
Walk without Fear Prayer for Today
Father God, forgive us for our lapses in faith. Lord, forgive us also for our lack of knowledge of your promises. God, help us to walk without fear by faith in you and your word. Lord, we know you haven’t given us a spirit to fear again but of power and a sound mind; let us remember that. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
