Thank you God for the year – Prayer for December 31. It’s been a great year, and 365 days have already passed. So many have happened to us and around us, but here we are on the last day, saying thank you to God for the year.
Bible Verse for Today
“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick when their wrath was kindled against us.” (Psalms 124:2-3)
Psalm 124 is a chapter of the Bible we should fill out mouths with today. Since the inception of this year, a lot has been happening. People died during wars, the poverty rate increased, and kidnappings, and some ended up in prison, but you are alive to witness the end of this year. It’s an outstanding achievement on its own.

The psalmist says in verse 6 of the same chapter (124), “Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.” It simply means we are escaping all these tragedies that showed this year by the grace of God alone – he was never tired of protecting us.
He promised he would see us through our going out and coming in. He did all that. Psalm 121:8 says, “The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” The good thing again is that it doesn’t stop this year. It continues forever.

Also, the year might not be smooth for you but being alive is the most important thing ever because you being alive means there’s hope. God has not left you; he has plans for you. You may think he did not help this year but know that his plans won’t go undone.
This time, all you should do is give thanks. You might not have escaped if God had been on your side all through this year.
Prayer for the day
Dear Father, I say a big thank you for preserving my life all through this year. I thank you for protecting the lives of my family members and my friends. I want to thank you for the provisions. Thank you, God, for the year, and I know you will do more for me next year. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
